Apparently in my city the amount of "popularity" you have is directly based on your looks. I'm curious to see where this people will be when were older. Will they just be living off of what their parents built for them? Who am I to say? But looks fade people, stop worrying so much about the amount of likes and followers you have. Because one day it wont matter how fast you get into the club, it won't matter who has the best table, the best car, the best clothes. One day people will actually care about what you have to say, and when you realize you can't really think for yourself, when you don't even know whats going on in the world, when you finally see theres more important things in life than just followers, you'll regret not having cared. Because apparently as long as something doesn't affect me, I don't give a damn about it and I don't want to know anything about it. Who cares about saving the animals? Who cares about global warming? Who care about healthcare? Sharing a photo, giving a like is not saving anyone. Raising awareness won't help if people don't take action. But how can it if people don't listen, if they don't have the drive to research and inform themselves about what its actually going on in the world, and not only this but taking it upon themeless to make a change, to make an active change in their lifestyle that will contribute more to society than to their Instagram feed.
But thats all I have to say. I think my point is, that the next time someone approaches you with a topic that might seem boring or "lame" or "too sad" not only listen to them but actually pay attention to what their saying. And instead of retaliating with an argument that justifies your actions, take a breath, do your research and form an educated opinion. Because we girls are worth more than just our looks, we are worthy of being heard.
