My very first weekend in Munich my host dad ๐จ๐ป(which was 35) invited me to the club with his friends. I had plans to go out with my friends from school but he insisted that this club was so much better and that it was a special night and what not. I texted a friend and she joined me once I was there ๐ฏ. My host dad introduced me to some of his friends and told them that we met through a mutual friend. I won't get into much detail since he is a lawyer and literally threatened me to sue me so long story short. He gave me a ton of free drinks ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธfrom the open bar and I got so wasted I couldn't remember the name of the street I lived in๐.
Tip #1 - If you plan on getting super drunk to the point of blacking out ✒️write on your arm the return address (home/hotel/hostel) as silly as it may sound its worth it. This would have same me lots of walking and explaining to do, who in their drunk mind can pronounce Hohenzollernstraรe?!
This was only my first week in Germany ๐ฉ๐ช and apparently I lost all my ability to properly drink without getting shit faced. But it definitely didn't end here. I had never lived on my own before, and having to manage so much money was difficult at first ๐ธ, I didn't know how to properly spend it and since my friends and I were all students of course we bought the cheapest alcohol we could find๐ท.
Tip #2 - Never ever ever spend less than 10 euros on booze, this may seem obvios to some people but parting more than twice a week adds up quickly ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ, and getting so wasted the police ๐จ needs to be involved is not worth the few bucks you save on booze.
This took me a few more drunk af nights to learn but eventually I learned my lesson and discovered that I could get drunk on wine! I have no idea why but my alcohol tolerance in Europe was much lower than in Mexico ๐ช.
Tip #3 - Wine and even really good wine is not that expensive in Europe as it is in Mexico! #drinkmorewine ๐ท๐ท๐ท
Tip #4 - If your a guy a don't really like wine... BEER ๐ป
To all the girls that loose their shit at the club ๐๐ป, take a mf purse with you. I don't really want to admit all the times I'VE LOST MY PHONE at the club, and every single time was because I forgot to take a purse with me. Its much more easier to loose your phone than your purse. And if you're like me and lost all your IDs and only have your passport with you, you most definitely don't want to loose that too!
Tip #5 - don't be stupid and take a purse ๐
Now if you really want to loose it, I mean really push your drinking abilities to the next level...
Tip #6 - Leave all things you might loose home (home being the place you'll come back to sleep, that is if you plan on coming back to sleep iykwim) ๐
My friends and I did this in Paris, we were going to the Titty Twister and since earlier that day my friends wallet got stolen we decided to apply tip # 1 and take only the cash we intended to spend and thats it. We left our phone at the hostel and weren't able to take any pictures or snaps, but it was worth not loosing our phones.
Tip #7 - hide your keys ๐ outside your place before going out, that way the first one that comes back home can get in.
This applies to the time I gave my drunk friend the keys to my apartment and she forgot to go to my place and went to her place instead, locking me out of my place ๐ Also to the time we got drunk before leaving the apartment and I forgot to take the keys with me ๐.
Tip #8 - Take a coat with you, 95% of clubs have a coat check where you can safely store your belongings ๐๐ผ
Tip #9 - Go to different types of clubs ๐๐ป, I was surprised to find clubs that played latin music in Germany and I later found out that there were all types of clubs, from Hip-Hop, Electronic and even Brazilian music
Tip #10 - Have your friends on the "Find My Friends" app, this way if they don't come back the next day you'll at lest have an idea of where they at ๐
Drinks can get expensive, the average drink costs 10 euros per glass and 4 euros per shot, so ordering a bottle will literally save you money, also getting a table is easy in most clubs, this will depend on how full the club is so if you don't book it beforehand ask if they have any available. You could get 2 bottles of alcohol with service for 100 - 200 euros depending on the bottles which is not that bad once you split it among your friends, and if you're all girls most times you'll get free shots. Also, if you book a table beforehand you don't need to pay cover (entrance fee) ๐ช๐ผ.
Tip #11 - Get a table or buy a bottle! (you can buy a bottle without having a table btw)
This are all the tips I can give you for now, without mentioning the basic stuff of drinking lots of water and having dinner and what not. So have fun and get drunk! :P
Don't drink if you're underaged
Don't drink and drive
Don't drink from strangers drinks
Don't take free drinks from strangers
Don't do drugs... unless in Amsterdam
Stay in school
Evita el excesso
Todo con medida
blah blah blah
Ahuevo peda!
